“We are extremely excited to celebrate the 10th edition of StarCrossed with the help and support of our title sponsor, Stanley, a brand of PMI,” said Low Pressure Promotions co-founder Terry Buchanan. “This year, there are so many new twists as StarCrossed moves from it’s original venue to the premiere Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah to kick off a weekend of racing at the same venue.”
Stanley’s involvement with Low Pressure Promotions has been plentiful in the last few years, with title sponsor support for StarCrossed in 2010 and 2011, as well as support at the 2010 Singlespeed World Championships, and the local MFG Cyclocross series in Seattle. Additionally, Stanley, a brand of PMI has been a long-standing supporter of cyclocross in general with support for the US Gran Prix, US Cyclocross National Championships, and the Stanley Cycling Team in Seattle.
“We are proud to be involved in Starcrossed again this year. Seattle is our hometown and we love the Seattle cross community. We look forward to this event each year and are especially excited to be able to help bring the Stanley sponsored fly-over course feature. Missing from recent Stacrossed races, but always a crowd favorite, we are thrilled to bring this element back. We know it’ll make for great racing and can’t wait to be a part of it,” commented JoAnne Anderson, Senior Marketing Manager for Stanley, a brand of PMI.
Introducing their new Carbonated Drink Bottle at Starcrossed, Stanley is also partnering with Low Pressure Promotions and Deschutes in creating a “Stanley Beer Line” where event goers can purchase limited edition Starcrossed/ Stanley/ Deschutes 32oz Carbonated Drink Bottles for $20 or 16oz Travel Mugs for $10. All products will be filled with Deschutes beer as part of their purchase.
“Stanley’s support has allowed us to continue to bring world-class riders to our event,” said Low Pressure Promotions co-founder Zac Daab. “This year, we are happy to announce the participation of the two-time World Cyclocross Champion Bart Wellens of Belgium, his teammate Rob Peeters of the Telenet Fidea Cycling Team, as well as a host of other European riders such as France’s National Cyclocross women’s champion Caroline Mani, Czech National Cyclocross women’s champion Katarina Nash, and two-time US National Cyclocross champion Ryan Trebon.”
StarCrossed X will open the on-course Deschutes Beer Garden at Noon, and Deschutes Brewery will serve beer from their good times on wheels mobile bar, Woody. It has been a crazy two weeks behind the scenes. Rad Racing GP has become Rapha-Focus GP. Due to real life stuff for staff of Rad Racing NW the ownership of the UCI Cat 2 race on 9/18/11 has been transferred to us at Low Pressure Promotions, LLC.
In order to maintain the great weekend of UCI cyclocross racing you have all become accustomed to in mid-September we are promoting both events at Lake Sammamish Park in Issaquah, WA. StarCrossed has always been scheduled for an alternative site to Marymoor Park for 2011 but has finally settled on a home at Lake Sammamish Park for this year. Back to Marymoor Park next year.
In order to maintain the party with a bike race that is StarCrossed we have added the Singlespeed Eliminator Shootout on a short course under the lights starting at 7:00 PM. Full details listed in Race Info.
Looking forward to a great weekend of racing. Get signed up, get your friends out to watch and dust off the cowbells.
